Impact of Radioactive Waste on Marine and Land Species is Pritvik’s second book. This book delves in detail Pritvik’s research on impact of radioactive waste, including radioactive mutations, and the uses of freshwater green algae in removing Strontium 90 from radioactive wastewater. The book tells us how freshwater green algae can clean up and recycle radioactive waste and thereby help determine a long-term disposal of the spent nuclear fuel. Expected in October 2015, Pritvik’s Impact of Radioactive Waste on Marine and Land Species is in the light of the four nuclear power plants that are coming up in Abu Dhabi.
Read more »Walking With Prehistoric Beasts is Pritvik’s third book, on which he gave a lecture at the PAN-IIT Meet in April 2014, in Dubai. He was nine then and it fetched him standing ovation from scientists, engineers, businessmen, philanthropists, environmentalists and many others. In this book, he takes his readers through a mind-blowing journey into the fascinating world of prehistoric life starting 550 million years ago till the era when modern man evolved. This book will be in UAE bookstore by the end of 2015.

Pritvik is currently researching on impact of radioactive waste, including radioactive mutations, and the uses of freshwater green algae in removing Strontium 90 from radioactive wastewater. This would aid in cleaning and recycling radioactive waste, thereby determining a long-term disposal of the spent nuclear fuel. His research work on green algae for cleaning up nuclear waste will be published soon in his second book titled Impact Of Radioactive And Nuclear Waste On Marine And Land Species. Despite having limited resources, Pritvik is doing this research in the light of the four nuclear power plants that are coming up in Abu Dhabi.
Pritvik has also been researching on his own in herpetology for the last two years on the unique characteristics that some reptiles have — re-growing lost limbs— and he believes that one day he may have a breakthrough on re-growing human limbs or even organs on day! His core aim is to cross selective human DNA strands with those of specific reptiles to make a breakthrough on limb and organ regeneration.
However, Pritvik’s prime interest and USP is researching on prehistoric creatures and unearthing new theories in palaeontology. His aim is to make the UAE the finest location for discovering fossils. He is, in fact, currently working on discovering Middle East Cretaceous marine invertebrates and late Miocene Arabian continental vertebrate fossils. Pritvik thinks that the three areas of importance in the UAE are the Western Region of Abu Dhabi, the slopes of Jebel Hafit and the eastern mountains. He says, “The fossils in the eastern mountains were formed during the Cretaceous Period, 70 million years ago when a shallow warm sea lapped against the uplifted Hajar islands. The limestone formed in this period is called the Simsima Formation. The best exposures are found at Jebel Huwayyah — known as Fossil Valley, Jebel Rawdah, Jebel Buhays and Qarn Murrah. Various fragments of poorly preserved corals, sponges, algae and bivalves can be found in these regions and I would want to launch a government-approved scientific palaeontology dig in these areas.” Pritvik is also looking forward to launching palaeontology digs in other parts of the world.
He is also writing two more books — Walking With Prehistoric Beasts (his third book) and Rare Dinosaurs (his fourth book) — and is updating his first book When Dinosaurs Roamed The Earth that made him the world’s youngest author on palaeontology at seven.
Today, at 10, Pritvik is keen on availing any opportunity to continue his passion and unquenchable thirst for scientific knowledge and his ongoing research on palaeontology, herpetology and radioactive mutations. In fact, he feels that the UAE should foster more research facilities and become “a hub for palaeontology, herpetology and nuclear research on the global educational map”.
