As a conscientious, curious, and passionate researcher eager to collaborate and tackle critical problems via scientific innovations, I’m currently pursuing Bachelor of Science in Physics and Astrophysics at the California Institute of Technology or Caltech.
I’m also furthering my research at CERN, Geneva, Switzerland, on di-Higgs production under my Caltech Research Advisor to create better particle detection algorithms and probe beyond the Standard Model in physics as part of the Caltech-CMS group. My previous work at CERN has been on GEM detectors — a novel muon system in CMS-Large Hadron Collider — to develop new data acquisition systems for detectors’ quality controls.
At Caltech, I’ve joined an incredible NASA-JPL group to research on applying complexity metrics to exoplanets, black holes, and pulsars and develop reliable biosignatures and techno-signatures. I am also doing a project at the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (LIGO) to determine the distribution and composition of the Stochastic Gravitational Wave Background and model the time series of core collapse supernovae. Further, I’m continuing my work as a researcher at the Beyond: Center for Fundamental Concepts in Science, wherein I’ve co-authored a paper, False Positives and the Challenge of Testing the Alien Hypothesis, which has been accepted for publication in the Astrobiology journal. I am also Co-Author of NASA Astrobiology Primer 3.0 (astrobiologyprimer.org), and got to write Chapter 9, Life as we don’t know it, again to be published in Astrobiology.
A Rise Global Winner for my project on stemming climate change, titled, Network Theory models of mass extinctions, I’m also a World Science Scholar — under-18 exceptional mathematicians in the world — a first from the MENA region (at present a Mentor to current Scholars), an alumni of The Junior Academy-New York Academy of Sciences, and the world’s youngest author in paleontology — having published my first book, When Dinosaurs Roamed the Earth, at seven. Since then, I have authored, Planet Radioactive and Walking with Prehistoric Beasts.
While I have achieved all five A*s in my A-levels at Dubai College (my high school), I’ve also completed Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics’ International Summer School for Young Physicists (ISSYP) program and Harvard’s Secondary School Program titled, Planets, Moons and Their Stars: The Search for Life in the Cosmos (got A with college credits).
A Future Stars-Arabian Achievement Award winner, Sharjah Book Authority’s ‘Incredible Talent’, TEDx speaker, British Science Association’s Science Ambassador, Emirates Environmental Group’s Crystal Trophy winner, I’m also a ‘State Asset’ and ‘UAE Ambassador of Organ Donation’—both declared by the UAE Prime Minister — and Founder-CEO of PAWS for Therapy.
